Prediction: 10-6. Make the playoffs as a 6 seed.
Note: If the Giants draft the way the Saints did they should be a playoff team. We haven’t drafted anyone yet so I am predicting with the current roster. Injuries could happen and that will screw up with the schedule a lot. *=Subject to Change.
Week 1: Jaguars at Giants. Sunday, September 9, 1:00 E.T. LOSS: 27-17. My prediction is that the Giants lose in a close one to a team that has former coach Tom Coughlin. The Giants do not seem that good to me yet and they need to prove to people that they can be a good team after the disaster last year. They have a chance in this game but it is a defensive battle.
Week 2: Giants at Cowboys. Sunday, September 16, 8:20 E.T. WIN: 31-17. The Giants seem to have owned the Cowboys at their stadium in recent years. The Giants get their first win of the season here against a disaster of a Cowboys team.
Week 3: Giants at Texans. Sunday, September 23, 1:00 E.T. Win: 35-28. The Giants post two back-to-back scores in the thirty for the first time in a while. They do everything they can in this brutal game against a very young and talented Texans team, and the Giants get rewarded with their second win of the season.
Week 4: Saints at Giants. Sunday, September 30, 4:25 E.T. LOSS: 38-17. The hopes of Giants fans drop a lot after they lose badly to an amazing Saints team that seems like everyone is just getting better, even Drew Brees. The Giants get embarrassed at home and it is a wake up call for them.
Week 5: *Giants at Panthers. Sunday, October 7, 1:00 E.T. Win: 24-17. The Giants edge out a win here against a Panthers team that is extremely overrated and not that good. This boosts morale for fans, players, and coaches. This won’t be lasting long though.
Week 6: Eagles at Giants. Thursday, October 11, 8:20 E.T. Win: 31-28. The Giants win in a nail biter to the defending champs at home. This rivalry game helps boost the Giants to their second division win of the season.
Week 7: Giants at Falcons. Monday, October 22, 8:15 E.T. Loss: 31-21. The Giants get their third loss of the season here. The Falcons lead by Matt Ryan make a second-half comeback after being down 14-3 in the first half. The Giants defense fell apart in the second half.
Week 8: *Redskins at Giants. Sunday, October 28, 1:00 E.T. Win: 17- 10. The Giants win a low scoring game here to boost their record in the first half of the season to 5-3. This game was a defensive battle and both offenses were not able to get it going. Odell had a key fourth quarter touchdown that gave the Giants a win. There is lots of hope for the rest of the season.
Week 9: BYE
Week 10: Giants at 49ers. Monday, November 12, 8:15 E.T. Loss: 31-21. The Giants get a loss here to make their record 5-4. They come off rusty from the bye week and do not show up in prime-time, as usual. They lose to a high-power offense run by Jimmy Garoppolo.
Week 11: *Buccaneers at Giants. Sunday, November 18, 1:00 E.T. Win: 21-10. The Giants win here to a very bad Buccaneers team that has been struggling to get wins all season. This improves the Giants record to 6-4.
Week 12: *Giants at Eagles. Sunday, November 25, 1:00 E.T. Loss: 31-14. The Giants get dominated in Philly by the defending champs. This is the second blowout loss for them this season. This hurts the fans bad.
Week 13: *Bears at Giants. Sunday, December 2, 1:00 E.T. Win: 24-17. The Giants improve their record here to 7-5 to a Bears team that is not looking that bad. Trubisky played well but was not able to get the win for the Bears in the final minutes at East Rutherford.
Week 14: *Giants at Redskins. Sunday, December 9, 1:00 E.T. Win: 28-24. Giants get another tight division win here as they sweep the Redskins. Again, the Redskins are not very good all around and Alex Smith does not do everything he needs to do wile throwing to picks (Landon Collins and Eli Apple pick it off). The Giants improve to 8-5.
Week 15: *Titans at Giants. Sunday, December 16, 1:00 E.T. Win: 31-28. The Giants win in a tight one again against Marcus Mariota and the Titans. The Titans are experiencing a down year as the AFC is just getting better while they are not improving. The Giants get a must need win here to put give them playoff potential.
Week 16: *Giants at Colts. Sunday, December 22/23, TIME TBD. Win: 28-7. The Giants blowout the Colts who are one of the worst teams in the league yet again. The Colts were not able to stir up anything as Luck was hurt again in the middle of the season. Another awful year for the Colts. However, the Giants clinch playoff position with this win that puts them at 10-6.
Week 17: *Giants at Cowboys. Sunday, December 30 1:00 E.T. Loss: 31-14. The Giants get blown out here as a wake-up call for them heading into the playoffs. However, the Cowboys did not exactly have a great year, ending up 7-9. The Giants are headed for the playoffs!
